Petronila, was very likely the daughter and youngest child of Bartolomé Montoya and María de Zamora when they came to Nuevo México in 1600. She was the sister of Diego de Montoya. She married Pedro in 1624 and later claimed that she married at only 11 years old. (An early case of a lady trying to claim to be younger than reality or really a child bride?)

• Events: 314
-Member of the party to come to Ne Mexico in 1601: OCT 1601, San Gabriel del Yunque, Reyno de Nuevo México
-She was among the loyalist family of Bartolomé de Montoya that stayed in New Mexico when other colonists left while Oñate was searching for the Legendary Quivera.

Petronila married Pedro Lucero de Godoy, son of Juan López de Godoy and Ynéz Lucero, about 1621. (Pedro Lucero de Godoy was born in 1600 in Ciudád de México, Nueva España and died before 1680 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
