Petronila, was very likely the daughter and youngest child of Bartolomé Montoya and María de Zamora when they came to Nuevo Méjico in 1600. She was the sister of Diego de Montoya. She married Pedro in 1624 and later claimed that she married at only 11 years old.

Petronila married Pedro Lucero de Godoy, son of Juan López de Godoy and Ynéz Lucero, about 1621. (Pedro Lucero de Godoy was born in 1600 in Ciudád de Méjico, Nueva España and died before 1680 in Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
