Francisco Palomino Rendon spent four years in southern New Spain and one year at Guadalupe de Paso. He was with the Reconquest colony in 1693. In the same year he entered Santa Fe and married Juana Montoya on 17 December, which was a few days before the battle of Santa Fe. Their final nuptial papers were drawn up at Santo Domingo Pueblo on the way up to Santa Fe.
