Francisco Palomino Rendon was a native of Puerto de Santa María in Spain, the son of Juan Gallegos and Catalina Palomino Rendón. After four years in southern New Spain, and one at Guadalupe del Paso, he reached Santa Fe with the Reconquest colony in 1693, to marry Juana Montoya on December 17, a few days before the battle of Santa Fe. The final nuptial papers had been drawn up at Santo Domingo Pueblo on the way up to Santa Fe. Francisco died before 1710, when his widow married Juan Manuel Chirinos. They had one daughter, María Estela, who married Juan Felipe de Ribera.
