Roger le Strange, of Ellesmere, Shropshire, was the steward of the Household, Justice of the Forest south of Trent, bailiff of the honor of Pec. Derbyshire, Sheriff of Yorkshire, Constable of chartley, Oswestry and Welshpool Castles, as well as the younger son of John le Strange of Knockin, Shropshire, by Lucy, daughter of Robert de Tregoz. In 1288, he was commander of an expedition against Rhys ap Maredudd. He was the King's messenger at the Court in Rome in 1291/92 and he was summoned to Parliament from 24 Jun 1295 until 26 Aug 1296. He died 31 Jul 1311.
