Yumar was was a 7 year old child when she a member of Don de Oñate party that came to settle New Mexico in 1598.

Her family were among the Loyalists who stayed in New Mexico.

Yumar married Antonio Ortiz Baca, son of Cristóbal Baca Capitán and Ana Ortiz. (Antonio Ortiz Baca was born about 1589 in Ciudád de México, Nueva España,²⁵² died on 21 Jul 1643 in Santa Fé, Santa Fé, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España ²⁵² and was buried on 21 Jul 1643 in Santa Fé, Santa Fé, Nuevo Méjico, Nueva España.)
