General Notes:
"Urswick Pedigree" from The Records of the Family of Urswyk . . . , pg. 7 746
Noted events in his life were:
• Background Information. 746 Adam de Urswick gave five hides, of about 600 acres of land, out of his estate in Urwick to the Abbot and Monastery of Furness, and this grant was confirmed in dure form at his father's eath by the eldest son of the benefacter, also named Adam de Urswick.
Allan de Urswick was one of the twelve monks who, headed by Abbot Gerold, left Furness Abbey to establish the sister Convent of Calred, in coupland, Cumberland, on 10 Jan 1134, being the last year of the Henry I, and seven years after the foundation.
Adam de Urswick, son of Gamelus, or Gamel de Urswick, had two sons and a daughter, Adam, John and Elizabeth. The eldest does not appear to have married or left issue, so his brother John inherited his land. Elizabeth was wedded to Sir Richard le Fleming. ~Records of the Family Urswyk . . . . pg 12-13
