Adam was eight years old in Febuary 1372 at the time of his father's inquisition. Adam was a ward of Sir William Legh and lived with Randle Legh. Later he was under the wardship of Henry Bradshaw of Bradshaw, Lancashire, who arranged for the marriage of Adam with his daughter Jonet. Children of Adam and his wife were: Henry, who married Alice de Mylton; Margaret, who married as her first husband, Hugh Davenport of Henbury, and as her second husband, Thomas de Staveley; Agnes who married Thomas Brett of Davenham; and Elizabeth who is said to have died unmarried.
