bullet  General Notes:

--Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (105A:27). ES II:20. Duke of Burgundy 1102-1143.

--The "Dictionary of Royal lineage" lists him as the father of PIERRE RAYMUND, who married Urraca of Castile and became the ancestor of the Kings of Castile.

--"Colonial & Revolutionary Lineages in America", Christopher Cope's book, "The Lost Kingdom of Burgundy" and the Royal Genealogical Database at Hull University on the Internet all agree that WILLIAM I, Count of Burgundy was his father. These sources refer to him merely as "Raymond, Count of Burgundy" rather than as Pierre Raymund. 116

Hugh married Mathilde de Mayenne, daughter of Gautier IV seigneur de Mayenne and (Madame) Alix *de Mayenne. (Mathilde de Mayenne died after 1162 in Beaune, France and was buried in Notre Dame, Beaune, France.)
