Margaret Stanley first married Sir William Troutbeck, who left her a widow in when he was only twenty-five. He died in 1459/60. Her second husband was her cousin, Sir John le Boteler. She had one son, Thomas, with Sir John who died 26 Feb 1463, leaving Margaret again a widow. Her third husband was Henry lord of Grey of Codnor.Margaret died in or before 1492.

William Troutbeck was knighted and resided at Brynes Castle in Errall. He married Margaret, daughter to Thomas Lord Stanly of Codnor, and was slain at Bloreheath in 1459. Margaret, his widow, married again to Lord Grey. Sir William and Margaret had issue of three sons and three daughters. Their eldest son was named William and married Jonna, daughter of Robert Moleneus. The second son was Adam, who married Margerie, daughter of Sir John Butler, and they had one daughter named Margaretta, who married Sir John Talbot of Grafton. Their third son was Robert Troutbeck, father of Mary who married Edmond Denny, Baron of the Exchequer.

Margaret, daughter of Thomas Lord Stanley was married to Sir William Troutbek, knight who died leaving her a widow. She remarried (by dispensation dated 23 Jan 1463) 1461, 1 Edward IV, to sir John Butler, of Bewsey, Knight and thirdly on 2 Oct 1465 to Lord Grey, of Codnor.
