Thomas paid his baronial relief of one hundred pounds when he came of age, and had livery of his lands. He was summoned to parliament from 1 to 7 Edward as Thomas de Multon, de Gillesland. This designation was again used when he was summoned to the coronation of King Edward II. He died son after leaving a wife and a sole daughter and heiress, Margaret, who married Randolph de Darce, and carried the barony of Gillesland into that family.

Thomas de Multon, son and heir, was aged 13 at Michaelmas 1295. He did homage and had order for livery of his lands, October 1302. In April 1306 he had orders to place himself under Henry de Percy, the King's lieutenant, for service in Cumberland and Galloway. From that time onwards, he was frequently called upon for the defense of the Border. He was knighted with the Prince of Wales in May 1306. He was summoned to Parliament 26 Aug 1307, by writ directed Thome Multon de Gillesland. In January 1307/8 he was summoned to attend the Coronation of Edward II. In May 1313 he was appointed joint Warden of the March in Cumberland with his kinsman Antony Lucy.

Thomas married, presumably, a daughter of Piers de Mauley, 1st Lord Mauley. He died s.p.m., in 1313 or 1314.

Thomas married Margaret de Mauley, daughter of Piers de Mauley 1st Lord Mauley and Nichola de Gaunt. (Margaret de Mauley was born about 1280.)
