Robert le Vavasour, son and heir of Sir William le Vavasour, was deputy for Theobald Walter, Sheriff of Lancashire in 1197. In March 1204, the King granted him free warren in all his land in Wharfedale. In 1223, he was involved in a case of darrein presentment for the church of Edlington, and circa 1225 he granted to York Minster a right of way to carry stone from Thevesdale quarry, on his land at Hazlewood.
Robert's 1st wife is of unknown name and parentage. He married, as his 2nd wife, in 1208, Juliane, widow of Thomas de Rie and daughter of Thomas de Multon, by his 1st wife, Sarah, daughter and heir of Richard de Flete. Robert was dead in 1227, when arrangements were made for the wardship and marriage of his son. His widow, Juliane married, before 30 September 1233, Robert Musard.

Robert married Juliana de Multon, daughter of Thomas de Multon of Gillesland and Sarah del Flete, in 1199 in West Dereham, Norfolk, England.141 (Juliana de Multon was born in Sutton, Yorkshire, England and died after 1337 in England 141.)
