The early residents of Albuquerque may be related to Juan de la Candelaria and his wife Juana Tórres de la Candelaria, Ventura de la Candelaria and his wife Petrona Efigena García de Noriega, or another brother. Juan and Ventura were the sons of Francisco Candelaria and Francisca Montoya. Francisco was the son of Blas de la Candelaria and Ana de Sandoval y Manzanares.

Juana Candelaria was probably a granddaughter of María de la Rosa's older brother, Francisco, who was living near her husband's Lopes relatives in 1750, and by coincidence in the same neighborhood as her great-aunt.
