Noted events in his life were:
• Dates & Events. 116 William was one of the adherents of Henry, the young king, in his rebellion against his father, Henry II, of 1173. He sacked and burned Nottingham in 1174. Later that year, he submitted to King Henry, surrendering his castles at Tutbury and Duffield. He was taken by the King, along with other rebellious nobles to France, where they were imprisoned at Caen.
He became a crusader and died at the siege of Acre in Palestine in 1190.
Walkelin married Sibyl de Braose, daughter of William de Braose 3rd Baron Bramber. Lord Brecknock, Abergavenny and Bertha de Pîtres. (Sibyl de Braose was born about 1157 in Bramber, Sussex, England and died after 5 Feb 1227-1228 in England.)
Walkelin next married Goda de Toeni, daughter of Robert de Rumilly and Unknown. (Goda de Toeni was born in 1172 in Eggington, Derbyshire, England and died before 31 May 1252.)
