George H. Atwood married Miss Stella Cole on 23 Jan 1878. Stella is the daughter Mathew B. and Cecelia Cole, who were natives of Erie County, Pennsylvania, in which state the father spent his entire life, devoting his attention to farming. Following the demise of Matthew B., Cecelia and Stella Cole came west to Ashland, Nebraska, where she resided for many years. Cecilia eventually returned to Pennsylvania where she lived until her death.
Stella married George Henry Atwood, son of John Fletcher Atwood and Sarah Ann Woods, on 23 Jan 1878. (George Henry Atwood was born on 8 Nov 1857 in Wisconsin,27,28 died on 22 Jun 1922 in Ashland, Saunders, Nebraska 27,28 and was buried in Ashland Cemetery, Ashland Nebraska 28.)
