~Baronia Anglica Concentrata, Vol. I, p. 137, came to England with William the conqueror and died 1141, married Agnes Paynel. This Pedigree omits the next generation of Robert de Brus. It isn't likely the the Robert de Brus who came with William the Conqueror is the one who died in 1141 while in battle. He would be close to 100 years old at the time.

Robert de Brus, a noble Knight of Normandy, who came to England with William the Conqueror and was present at the Battle of Hastings. He recived ninety-four lorships in Yorkshire, of which the manor and castle of Skelton was the capital of his barony. He died in 1094 or 1100.
