Alice Mautravers

  General Notes:

Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Giffard, pp. 639-640), identifies her as sister of JOHN MAUTRAVERS of Lytchet Mautravers, Dorset. There are at least 5 consecutive generations of that name. Chronology would indicate that JOHN would most likely be Alice's father. ¹¹⁶

Alice married Sir Elias (Helias) Giffard Knight, son of Thomas Giffard and Unknown. (Sir Elias (Helias) Giffard Knight was born about 1210 in Brimsfield, Gloucestershire, England and died before 2 May 1248.)
