• Background Information. 141
Rodulf or Ralph de Toeni, the second, son and heir was more than likely born before 970 because in 1013/14, the Duke of Normandy, having founded the castle of Tilličrer, gave the custody of this castle to Rodulf de Toeni and his son Roger, togehter with Neel, Vicomté de Cotentin. Ralph was seigneur of Tosni and Conches. In about 1015, Ralph went to Apulia and in the winter of 1015/16, he was at the siege of Salerno.

According to Cokayne's Complete Peerage, the name of his wife is unknown, but it is possible she belonged to a collateral branch of the ducal house. According to Orderic, Ralph's son Roger descended from an alleged uncle of Rolf, the founder of Normandy.

Rodulf had at least two sons, Roger who succeeded him and Ralph.
