Gunilda, wife of Ucthred, son of Fergus, lord of Galloway, to whom her brother gave Torpenhow, and the rectory there. This Ucthred was cruelly murdered by his brother Gilbert, Sept. 22, 1174. The Cronicon Cumbriæ records that "Alanus filius et hæres eiusdem Waldevi" enfeoffed "Ugthredo filio Fergus domino Galwediæ" with property and "Guynolda sorore sua" [Dugdale Monasticon III, Wetherall Priory, Cumberland, XVI, Cronicon Cumbriæ, p. 585]. "Uctredus filius Fergi et Gunnild filia Waldef sponsa sua" donated "ecclesiam de Torpennoth" to Holyrood abbey by undated charter [Holyrood, 24, p. 19].
