~Weis' Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 233B:38, names her parents as Sir William Stanley of Hooton, Cheshire and Margaret Bromley, daughter of Sir John Bromley, Knight, of Badington, Cheshire. ¹⁶⁰

~According to A Genalogy of the Southworths (Southards), by Samuel G. Webber (1905), p. 433, she brought the estate of Gerard's Bromley to her husband. Her father is named as William Stanley. ¹⁵⁷

~Ormerod's History of Cheshire, Gerard Pedigree, Vol. II, p. 132, Margaret, daughter of Sir Thomas Stanley of Hooton, knight, by Margaret, his wife and daughter of Sir John Bromely of Badington, heiress to her mother. Marriage Dispensation, 1476 and confimed at Rome, 1478, and by the bishop of Lich. 21 Aug 1481. ⁷¹³

Margaret was the daughter of William Stanley, the sheriff of chester and Margaret Bromley. She married Peter Gerard, Esquire of Kingsley and Bryn County Lancaster, to whom she brought the estate of of Bromley. Their daughter was Isabel Gerard, who married Richard Langton. The daughter of Isabel and Richard was Helen or Ellen Langton, who married Sir John Southworth.

Margaret married Peter Gerard of Kingsley and Bry, son of Sir Thomas Gerard Knight and Cecily Foulshurst.⁷¹³ (Peter Gerard of Kingsley and Bry was born about 1460 in Kingsley, & Bryn, Lancastershire, England, died in 1492 in Lancashire, England ⁷⁶³ and was buried in 1492 in Winwick, Lancashire, England ^713,763.)
