• Background Information. 1411
The Maltby-Malbie Family History, pp. 77-79. has a copy of Visitation of Yorkshire, Edited by Foster & dated 1487, which presents two pedigrees of the Malebisse family titled Acaster Malbisse. The first peidgree has:

Hugo de Malebisse
|
Hugo married to Emma de Percy, daughter and heiress of Peter de Percy of Acaster
|
Richard de Malbisse
|
Emma

The second Pedigree shows:

I. Hugo Malebis, to whom Roger de Mobrai (son and heir of Nigel de Albina) granted (inter alia) the fee of Lands in Carlton,Silton, Kepwick, Morton, Dale and Hornby [Vide York Cop. Papers, Vol II., p. 850]

II. One authority states: "Sir William Malebis married Emma de Percey, daughter of Henry de Percy of Acaster." I am inclined to think this is the correct record, and that Sir William (2) is the same William de Maltby, who was in York in 1100.

III. Sir Richard Malebis (Ricardus Malebyse) of Acaster Malbis, 28 Aug 1179, Roger do Molbray and Henry de Munford released the capital messuage "et totam medietatem terra de Eton" to Richard Malebisse. [Vide York Cor. Papers. Vol. II, p. 954]

"Note" - Acaster-Malbis: Emma de Percy was evidently either sole, or co-heiress of Henry de Percy of Acaster, hence her son is called 'of Acaster Malbis.'"
