Elizabeth Paine, wife of William Hammond, was sister of the following immigrants:

William Paine, came to the British American Colonies in 1635. He first lived in Watertown where he was one of the largest proprietors in 1636/37, but he soon moved to Ipswich where his brother Robert was living. He was a marchant and a large landower in Ipswich. In about 1652, William moved to Boston, where he died in 1660. He left the sum of five pounds to each of the children of his sister, Elizabeth Hammond.

Robert, b. 1601, married to Ann, daughter of John Whiting. Robert and Ann emigrated to America in about 1640. They settled in Ipswich. Robert died in 1684 and two of his sons were named John and Robert.

Dorothy (Paine) Eire, wife of Simon Eire of Watertown and Boston.

Phebe (Paine) Page, wife of John Page of Watertown. John Page came to the colonies from Dedham, Essex, England in 1630. He was one of the first settlers in Watertown, and its first Constable. John Page died 18 Dec 1676, at about age 90. Phebe Paine died 25 Sep 1677, at the age of eighty-seven years.

Anne, bap. Lavenham 14 Jul 1616; m. first by 1637 Timothy Hawkins (eldest child b. Watertown 10 Jun 1637); m. second Watertown 14 Dec1 653 Ellis Barron.

• Thomas, bp. Lavenham 17 Sep 1618; returned to England 1647/8 to reclaim his grandmother's lands; m. by 1655 Hannah Cross of Ipswich. (Their only child, Thomas, was born at Watertown on 11 Jul 1656; Thomas Hammond, the father, had died on 10 Dec 1655 and Hannah, the mother, died on 24 Mar 1656.)

• Elizabeth, b. about 1619 (aged fifteen on 30 Apr 1634); m. about Apr 1636 Samuel House of Scituate.

• Sarah, bap. Lavenham 21 Oct 1623; m. by 1640 Richard Smith of Long Island.

• John, bap. Lavenham 2 Jul 1626; m. first by 1653 Abigail Salter (eldest child b. Watertown 3 Feb 1653/4; in her will of 1 Dec 1660 Abigail Salter of Dedham, Essex, made a bequest to "Abigail Hammond, my daughter, of New England"); m. second Charlestown 2 Mar 1663/34 Sarah Nichols ; m. third, Rowley 7 Nov [1686?] Prudence (Wade) (Crosby) Cotton, daughter of Jonathan Wade and widow of Anthony Crosby and Seaborn Cotton.

Elizabeth, at the age of forty-seven years came to New England with her children Elizabeth, aged twenty-five, Sarah, age ten and John, aged seven. They left Ipswich, England, Apr 1634, onboard the ship, Frances. By Apr 1634, she had joined her husband who was already in the colonies.

Elizabeth was born in Nowton Parish, Near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England in 1687, and was the daughter of William Paine and the granddaughter of Anthony Payne. Elizabeth's siblings, Phebe, Dorothy, William and Robert also emigrated to the British American colonies.
