• Background Information. 713
The first of this family that occurs is Hugh, who is likely the father of Matthew de Domeville who was probably father of Sir Roger, and an ancestor of Mathew Domvull (brother of John de Domville, living in 1 Ric. II & 16 Ric. II), temp. Edw. III who appears to have been a younger son and by Agnes his wife, daughter and heir of William, son of Robert Wettenal by Elena, daughter and heir of Robert de Bulkelegh.

Roger, probably son of the before mentioned Sir Roger Domville, knight, was most likely the person who held this manor of Brimstage and the manor of Oxton from Robert de Montalt, by military service, as one's knight's fee as Inquisition, after the death of the said Robert, 6 Edw. I.
