Iñigo Jiménez is named in Arab sources, without a patronymic, as the father of the brothers Íñigo "Arista" and Fortún. ~Settipani (2004), p. 92

His patronymic is deduced from the interpretation of the Codex de Roda referred to above. There is no surviving factual information concerning his life. He married, after 788, as her second husband, the widow of Musa ibn Fortún, head of the Banu Qasi family. Settipani highlights the lively academic debate over whether Musa was the first or second husband of the wife of Íñigo.
