Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Ximena may be the daugher of García Iñigez although she is absent from the list of children of King García I in the Codex de Roda. Daughter of King García I according to Sánchez-Albórnoz. (Sánchez-Albórnoz, C. Problemas de la Historia Navarra, p. 52, cited in Settipani, p. 11) Settipani, while agreeing that Jimena must belong to the royal family of Navarre, highlights difficulties with this theory while recognising that none of the possible alternative origins appears viable.
