~Cockayne's Complete Peerage, 1896, Vol. VII, pg. 30, witness in 1153 to King Stephen's treaty with Henry, afterwards Henry II, was Sheriff of Wilts, 1156-60, and Lieut and Captain General of the forces in Aquitaine for Henry II, murdered by Guy de Lusiguan, 26 March 1167/68, buried at the Abbey of St. Hilary, at Poitiers. His widow died 1174. 141

• Background Information. 726 Patrick de Salisbury, who was Steward of the Household to the Empress Maud and advanced by her to the dignity of Earl of Salisbury. He was Slain by Guy de Lusignan in 1169 on his return from a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella. He was first married to maud, and second to Ala (Hele), the daughter of William de Talvas, Count of Ponthieu, and was the widow of William, Earl of Warren and Surrey. ~Fenwick Allied Ancestry, pg. 94, Pedigree 58
Patrick married Hele Comtesse de Alençon, daughter of Guillaume "Talvas" de Belêsme comte d'Alençon et de Ponthieu and Hélie de Bourgogne, in 1149.748 (Hele Comtesse de Alençon was born in 1124 in Alençon, Normandy, France and died on 4 Dec 1174 in Priory, Bradenstoke, Wiltshire, England 748.)
