Gospatric (the Foot of Patric) was the first recorded Lord of Samlesbury. He lived during the reign of Henry II (1154-1189), and founded a chapel at Samelsbury. Gospatric was followed by his son, Roger de Samlesbury a.k. Rogerus fil Gospatric.
