Floris I Count of Holand

   Another name for Floris was Floris I, Graaf van Holland.

~ Weis's Ancestral Roots of Certain American Colonists Who Came to America before 1700, 8th Edition, 100A:22, 101:23, Florent I, count of Holland, son of Dietrich III of Holland and his wife Othelendis of Nordmark, daughter of Bernard I Margrave of Nordmark, married Gertrude, daughter of Bernard II, Duke in Saxony and his wife Eilika, daughter of Henrich of Schwinfurt, Margrave in the Nordgau. Florent I was murdered, 28 Jun 1061 and Gertrude married, as her second husband, Robert I Count of Flanders. Gertrude and Florent were parents of Dietrich V, count of Holland; and Bertha who married Philip I, King of France. ¹⁶⁰

Floris married Gertrude of Saxony, daughter of Bernard II Herzog Billung Duke of Saxony and Eilika von Schweinfurt, in 1050. (Gertrude of Saxony was born about 1028 in Saxony ¹⁶⁰ and died on 4 Aug 1113 in Flanders ¹⁶⁰.)
