~The Early History of the Stricklands, p. 16, "The Connection of the Families of Strickland, Washington and Carleton" Pedigree, show Adam de Vaux, alias Adam de Castle Carrock, to be the son of Eustace de Vaux, and father of Walter fitz Adam, alias de Strickland, younger son, d. 1236-39, married to Christian de Leteham, heiress of Great Strickland, Westmoreland. The next in line is Robrt de Strickland married to Geatrice de Cotesford, whose second husband was Robert de Wethered. ⁹¹⁰
