William de Harcourt

Information about this person:
• Background Information. 927 William de Harcourt, eldest son of Robert and Colede d'Argouges. He was on the side with Henry I against his brother Robert Curtois, and commanded the troops which defeated Walleran de Beaumont, Earl of Mellent, in the battle near Bourgtouroude, 1123. For his services he was rewarded with large possessions in England.
Robert married Hue d'Amboise, and they had three sons and two daughters:
Robert de Harcourt, progenitor of the Harcourts, counts of Harcourt and Aumalle, and the Marquisses of Montmorency.

Simon de Harcourt, married to Adeliza, daughter and coheir of Osbert de Arden, of Kinsbury, in Warwickshire, but died without issue.
Peretta de Harcourt, the wife of John, Lord of Hellenvillier, in France.
