Richard Borthwick posted to GEN-MEDIEVAL on 12/12/99:
"The speculation that Hadwide/Hadwig (d.28 Jan 1075/80) wife of
Gerhard (d. about 14 Apr 1070), duke of Lorraine, belonged to the house of Namur is no longer accepted.
Neither ES VII:68 (Namur) nor I.2:2 (Lorraine) so indicate, the first by making no mention of a daughter of that name and the second by giving her no affiliation." ¹⁹³

Hedwig married Gerard Duc de Lorraine, son of Gerard II de Metz and Gisele de Metz. (Gerard Duc de Lorraine was born about 1010 in Lorraine, France and died in 1070.)
