According to the marriage record for Alonso Hernández de Medina and Josefa Cabrera, Alonso was theson of Lucas Hernández and Francisca de Medina. Josefa de Cabrera was the daughter of Tomás Cabrera and Gertrudis Sánchez. Alonso had died before his widow and her children signed up to be colonist in New Mexico.
