Raufe Mobberley, of Mobberley, lord of the moiety, llived during the reign of Henry III.

Before Raufe, there had been an Austine de Brethmete, who had given Patrick de Mobberley half of Mobberley for his life. Patrick founed the prior of regular canons of the order of St. Augustine, sometime around 1206. Next, John son and heir of Augustine was the lord of the moiety of Mobberly. John lived during the reign of King John. Ormerod could not find any documentation linking Raufe Mobberly with this John.
