Sancho Garcés I de Navarre was able to capture Pamplona and fortify a long line of forts in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This took place after the decline of the powerful Banû Qasî clan.


Sancho married Toda Aznárez de Larron, daughter of Azanar Sánchez de Larraun and Oneca Fortunez de Navarra. (Toda Aznárez de Larron was born about 885 and died after 970.)
