Martín Flaínez was the son of Flain Fernádez and his wife Toda Fernádez. " 'Tota et filiis meis Fernando Flainiz et Martino Flainiz' donated property to León Cathedral by charter dated 28 May 1065 [León Cathedral, Vol. IV, 1136, p. 360]. "Martino Flainz et Fredenando Flainz" sold "divisione...de villa...Farauellos subtus Otero Maurisco territorio Ceia" to Sahagún by charter dated 20 Feb 1072 [ Sahagún, Tomo II, 711, p. 435]."
