Charles Cawley's Medieval Lands, Fernando Pérez Traba was the son of Pedro Fróliaz de Traba and his first wife Urraca Fróilaz. He was originally from Portugual, but was banished by Afonso Henriques conde de Portugal in 1128, and then made his home in Galicia and was named conde de Galicia in the 1140s. He married Sancha González, daughter of Gonzalo Ansúez andhis wife Urraca Vermúnde, who was the mother of María Fernández de Traba.
Fernando married Sancha González, daughter of Gonzalo Ansúrez and Urraca Vermúdez. (Sancha González died after 1 Jul 1155.)
