Felipe Sánchez was a native New Mexican, age 20 in 1699 [DM, 1699, no. 12]. His wife was Olaya Otón, who was dead by 1721 when their daughter Gertrudis, widow of Cristóbal Maese, married Cayetano José Moya [DM, 1721, no. 7]. Felipe could well have been a third natural son of Juana López.
