Eleanor was the the wife of Sir John Swynnerton was the only daughter and heir of Robert, son of Stephen de Peshale. Stephen's father was William, Lord of Peshale living at the time of King John of England, and was son of another William, who witnessed a deed in 1157. The older William was the son of Robert de Peshale of Peshale, 1068, who married Ormonda, daughter and heir of Osbert de Stafford, son of Lyulph, Lord Lumley Castle, and Ælgytha, daughter of Uchtred, Earl of Nothumberland by Elgiva, daughter of Æthelred II.

Eleanor, daughter of Stephen de Peshale and sister of Robert, married John de Swynnerton. Robert must have died without issue, as Eleanor is referred to as the heir of Stephen de Peshale, and her husband John de Swynnerton, became Lord of Peshale in her right. By Eleanor, John had four sons, Richard, Stephen, Robert and John. Richard came into the estate of Peshale, and assumed the name Richard de Peshale. Stephen became the ancestors of the later lords of Swynnerton.
