Herbert IV was the son of Eudes (or Otho) Count of Vermandois. The daughter of Herbert IV and Adela de Vexin was Adelaide de Vermandois who married, first, Hugh Magunus, and second Reinald, count of Clermont. ¹⁶⁰

Adele married Heribert IV Comte de Vermandois, son of Eudes comte de Vermandois and Unknown. (Heribert IV Comte de Vermandois was born about 1032 in Vermondois, Normandy, France and died about 1080 in France.)
