Antonio Martín Serrano, mestizo, was born in New Mexico around 1655/65 and was a rsident of la Cañada. He was described as "somewhat fat, with protruding eyes with much white showing, and having black hair and a black beard. His first wife was Inéz de Ledesma, native of New Mexico who died before Oct 1696. His second wife was María de Carvajal, duaghter of Ignacio de Carbajal & widow of José Cortes del Castillo. María was born about 1673 om Querétaro, Nueva España and she married Antonio 5 Oct 1698 in Santa Cruz de la Cañada. María was dead by Aug 1725. Antonio's third wife was Gertrudis Fresquis, whom he married on 25 Aug 1725 in Santa Cruz de la Cañada. Gertrudis was born in la Cañada in Feb 1711 and was baptized 8 Feb 1711. She was the daughter of José Fresqui and María de Herrera.
