Sir Thomas Fitz Nicholl was the end of the male line, and second son of Robert Fitz Nicholl. Sir Thomas married Margarett, and in her right, he had the moieties of the Manors of Filton in the hundred Berkeley, and of Harry-Stoke near Bristoll in Gloucestershire. Sir Thomas and Margarett had issue of two daughters, Katherine and Alienor. After Margarett died, Sir Thomas married Agnes, who also died before he did, and without issue.

Sit Thomas Fitz Nicholl was one of the knights for the county of Gloucestershire in the ninth, tenth, sixteenth and eigteenth years of Ric. II. He was again in the first, second and ninth years of Hen. IV and the fifth year of Henry V. He went to as Knight of the Shire to eight Parliaments. Sir Thomas was high Sheriff of Gloucestershire in the fourth of Henry IV.

In the twelth of Henry IV, Sir Thomas installed his Manor of Hull where he most commonly lived, to himself and his wife Agnes and their male heirs. The remainer was given to Robert Poyntz and his wife Katherine, one of Sir Thomas's daughters.

Sir Thomas Fitz Nicholl, the fifth year of King Henry V, Anno 1418, died without male issue. He left two daughter as his heirs, Katherine, wife of Robert Poyntz and Elianor, wife of John Browninge.

Katherine,
second wife of Robert Poyntz, was the mother of Sir Nicholas Poyntz and the daughter and coheir of Sir Thomas Fitz Nichol. Sir Thomas was born abt. 1354 and died in 1418. He was of Hull alias Hill and Nympsfield, co. Gloucester. He was sheriff of Gloucester in 1382-3. knight of the shire 14 times between 1382-1414, Justice of the Peace in 1382, coroner in 1392-5 and steward of the Earl of Stafford in 1388/9. His wife was named Margery.
