Robert de Sutton of Worksop and Aston le Walls (the latter inherited from his mother) gave the manor of Aram to his uncle Robert. Robert de Sutton died in 1273/4, seised of the manor and advowson of Workop, the manor of Stton, Notts, and Aston le Walls and Byfield in Northamptonshire. Richard de Sutton was his son and heir, and was aged eight at the feat of St Michael in 2 Edw. I, 1274. Margaret, widow John de Lexington, was then living and had dower in Nottinghamshire lands.
