Guy d'Aquitaine was the son of Guillaume V "le Grand" duc de Aquitaine & III comté de Poitou. Guy adopted the first name of Guillaume when he succeeded his brother in 1058 as Guillaume VII duc de Aquitaine & VI comté de Poitou. His first wife was Aina de Périgord, widow of Eudes de Bordeau and daughter of Boson III comté de Périgord and his wife Aina de Montignac. Guillaume married as his second wife, Mathilde, of unknown parentage, and they had a daughter named Agnes. He married for a third time to Audearde (Hildegarde) de Bourgogne, daughter of Robert I "le Vieux" duc de Burgogne. Their known children were Guillaume d'Aquitaine, later Guillaume IX duc de Aquitaine; Hugues d'Aquitaine; Agnes d'Aquitaine who married Pedro de Aragón, son of Sancho I, King of Aragon by his first wife Isabel de Urgel; and Beatrix d'Aquitaine, a possible daughter, who married Alfonso VI, King of Castile.

Guillaume married Audearde de Bourgogne, daughter of Robert "le Vieux" Capet Duc de Burgundy and Éremburge d'Anjou comtesse du Maine, circa 1069.160 (Audearde de Bourgogne died after 1120 1000 and was buried in Poitiers, Aquitaine 1000.)
